What is Rosacea?
Rosacea appears as facial redness or “blushing” in the early stages, but can develop into bumps or inflammatory pustules that are often mistaken for acne.
Over time the chronic inflammation of the condition causes broken capillaries and tissue changes.
Rosacea is sometimes called the “Celtic Curse” because it occurs in people with a Celtic heritage and can be genetic.
The exact cause of rosacea is not known and there is no cure for rosacea.
It is aggravated by sun exposure, heat, alcohol, hormones and exercise.
It can be managed by lifestyle (moderating triggers), skincare to strengthen the skin, sunscreen, and light therapy treatments.
