What are Enlarged Pores?
Pores are small, round openings in the skin that allow for oil (sebum) and sweat to reach the surface of the skin from their respective glands below.
They become enlarged and more noticeable when they become clogged with oil (oily skin) and in aged skin.
The skin often appears to have the texture of an “orange peel”.
Pore size is largely genetic but can be affected by diet, acne, sun exposure and trauma (squeezing and picking blemishes).
Treatment for enlarged pores is generally focused on minimizing oil production
Restoring elasticity and volume to the skin
Ongoing sun protection
